Volvo last really large full-sized flat bed estate car, the 740 model range in to both saloon and estate versions were made from 1984 until 1992 – so our car with a number plate change can be placed in productions set as early as 1984.
Our car is in fantastic “as new” condition with it camera friendly Light Metallic Blue bodywork and light blue Velour interior. Well cared for and looked after by use for the last 16 years, she has a capacious interior for easily 3 passengers across the backseat and a VERY large boot space for sound and camera equipment if required. It also has its original automatic gearbox – so very easy for support actors to drive confidently.
Made famous by being Detective John Luther’s vehicle in the BBC’s massive crime drama ‘Luther’, the Volvo 740 is now becoming a sought-after car for all type of film and TV production with it official introduction into the “Classic Car” classification. This 1980s – 1990s car has also recently featured in the Amazon Prime Drama series “My Policeman”, starring Harry Styles.
They have been used in countless blockbusters such as ‘Mission Impossible II’, the ‘Final Destination’ films and ‘The Lost Boys’. Our car was used both as a backup and background car in the previously mentioned BBC series ‘Luther’.
