Volvo’s most popular large full-sized flatbed estate car, the 240 model range into both saloon and estate versions were made from 1974 until 1993. Our car, the GLT model with a number plate change can be placed in productions set as early as 1985 all the way up to the present day.
Our car is in great condition with-it camera-friendly Pillar Box Red bodywork and Black Leather interior. Well cared for and looked after by us for the last 10 years, she has a capacious interior for easily 3 passengers across the backseat and a VERY large boot space for sound and camera equipment if required. It also has a conventional manual Gearbox and power steering – so very easy for crew and cast to drive.
Made famous by being used in such Productions as ‘Jonathan Creek’, ‘Dr. Who’ and ‘A Touch of Frost’; the Volvo 240 is now becoming a sought-after car for all type of film and TV production with its official introduction into the “Classic Car” classification. This 1980s – 1990s car has also recently featured in the Amazon Prime Drama series ‘My Policeman’, starring Harry Styles.
Volvo 240 estates have been used in countless blockbusters such as the ‘Taken’ and ‘The Guestbook’ films, plus the ‘Supernatural’ TV Series.
